Here are those "catch22" type questions. These are some "good interview
questions" that I used to be stumped on in the past. But lately these
answers have been working for me.
How long do you think it will take to start getting meaningful results?
This answer makes answering all the rest of the "good" interview questions a piece of cake.
Answer: “I’m really excited to start adding value to the company
immediately. I will build relationships with my coworkers so that I can
know the mistakes to avoid. I will put in all the hours to learn from
them as well as my managers. I am a results-oriented person. If you
look back at my resume, I did the same at [job x], and we were able to
come with a completed project very quickly. I will recognize my
weaknesses early on and will work toward improving them.”
Describe a situation where you showed some initiative?
This one is easy and you don’t need a sample answer to it. Think of
a situation in the past where you were able to come in and “save the
day.” It doesn’t have the biggest or highest part in your career, but
just something meaningful to people you helped. Make sure it has 2
things: strong work ethic and something using your skills and
experience.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishments?
This question is more personal. Think about it before the
interview. My suggestion would be to read through the job description
and see which are the job’s highest values. Examples include:
organizing teams, excellent communication, etc. Now sit down and go
through your resume and see where you used these top two or three
skills and here’s the key: share the results of the project or the
deal.
